"Simplicity on the other side of complexity."

My gift is integrative coaching, rooted at the intersections of functional health, leadership, and your sense of meaningful contribution in the world.

Supporting you as a whole human being, I coach for health & wellness, life, purpose, leadership, and coaching for organizational leaders.

This kind of comprehensive support makes it possible to move beyond chasing and ‘whack-a-moling’ seemingly divergent problems—moving forward in genuinely new, coherent, generative ways.

What, simply, is coaching?

From time to time, most people experience a gap between knowing what they need to do—and doing it. Coaches help us cross that gap. Coaching is a rapidly growing profession that is not about offering advice or providing therapy, but a way for people to be in a supportive relationship that results in a more effective, meaningful lived experience for the client.

Through collaborative inquiry, reflections on strengths, values, and visions, and powerful dialogue, coaches serve as catalysts and witnesses to their clients’ transformations.

When is it time for coaching with Heather?

Anytime you need to hear yourself! But in particular: when the heat turns up. When things get hard we tend to dig into familiar ways of doing things. This generally works—until it doesn't.

When the heat of life turns further up, pushing us with more challenges—perhaps through a combination of health concerns, professional struggles, strained relationships, and financial challenges—we tend to dig even deeper into familiar ways of doing things.

These can be important invitations for change—but change of what kind, and how? In the overwhelm it can be hard to know where to begin. I invite to you begin here.

What to look for in coaching?

When you are navigating any change in your life, coaching can significantly uplift your process of journeying from “point A to point B.”

The following attributes contribute to a meaningful coaching experience:

1. Coaching talents: A coach who excels at the practice of coaching is skilled in listening, reflecting back to you your own awareness, supporting you with relevant resources, inquiring to help you connect with new insights, amplifying your discernment, and helping you maintain commitment to your goals while facilitating your own intrinsic motivation. The qualities of good coaching alone can be genuinely transformative.

2. Domain-specific capacities: Coaching is amplified when coaching talents are combined with a depth of knowledge in an aligned field or domain—such as when you are seeking support for improving your health, engaging a health coach who is educated and certified in health & wellness can leap-frog your process—saving confusion, frustration, time, energy, and money.

3. Lived experience: Coaching becomes even more impactful when a coach has firsthand, lived experience in the journey you are on, providing a foundation for empathy and insights for effective action.

4. Sense of connection: The pleasure of working with your coach can turn a "need to do" into a "want to do." Connecting with someone you genuinely enjoy builds a sense of team, having a partner and collaborator with you along the way.

When you're navigating times of significant challenge or change, coaching can profoundly uplift your life—in the present moment and for your enduring future—yet calls for a greater level of capacity to support you not only through A to B transitions, but through an ‘A’ to a-yet-to-be-discovered ‘C’ journey.

In such times these additional coaching attributes become vital:

5. Embodied presence: A coach with embodied presence—capacity for nuance, complexity, discernment, patience, wisdom—can help you explore and grow into truly new awareness, possibilities, and potentials.

6. Integrative capacities: A coach with integrative capacities across multiple domains can help you prioritize your energy and resources across seemingly competing contexts—engaging perceived limitations as design parameters rather than as constraints—to care in balanced ways for the whole of your life.

7. Centered on your growth: A coaching approach that meets you where you’re at, that is focussed on your next genuine step, and moves at a pace that allows your journey to unfold organically.

8. Focused on your greatest outcomes: Support that recognizes that while your journey may benefit from the experiences of others—including your coach’s lived experience—this journey is thoroughly and uniquely yours. Differentiated from the delivery of a program or pre-designed approach, support that is focussed specifically on your life for your greatest outcomes.

This all is the kind, and quality, of support you will experience with me.

I provide a custom experience for your journey through change and challenge—support that is unique to you, your needs, and your circumstances.

Bring your complexity. We will find your simplicity, together.
